Clipping/Oval/Capping 18th

I was skimming through the NICEIC site guide and this little section threw me:

I tend to generally clip my cables rather than use Oval or Capping, but is this saying the NICEIC or even the IET now want you to always use capping/oval?

You are a VERY brave man not capping when the plasterer will be getting his sharp trowel out..................

And Pete - I disagree with you.......... never had a cable damaged (by a plasterer) where its capped...

Not really because when I was house bashing we used Split oval metal conduit and metal sheathing

I use both. Using clips to hold capping into the wall.

I use galv clout nails for capping .
