Discuss Consumer Units under stairs in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

I'd have said yes given that the metal with appropriate fire barriers in place should contain and not aid the spread of fire.

However I personally wouldnt as from doing EICRs everyday I know it's a right pain because let's face it space is limited and normally that's where everyone stores their junk! And also it could depending on the house be difficult to meet part M of the building regs.
