If you live in a village how do they make money it's like having 3 wholesalers next to each other in the end 1 or 2 would have to close down or the stuff they would be selling must be unbelievably cheap
Even in larger areas I can't see how they make a living with so many near each other unless the food I'd cheap lyrics bought in
trevs right you are an idiot.

all three are usually packed, a village isnt always half a dozen houses

Where do you live then how big is this village ? Are you sure it's a village And packed or not the food is not the best and I don't mind trev calling me what he wants but from you i take offence , he is willing to discuss put points of view ( mostly wrong ) but he does . You just join the others and shout idiot , which trev is against

I live in a village you could not have 3 shops selling the same thing at all , so when you say village you,'d better say a very large village you ****

So what your saying gmes is that I can't have an opinion on this forum or express that opinion .if I don't agree with the larger posters on here . I expected better from you

In England and Wales, a town traditionally was a settlement which had a charter to hold a market or fair and therefore became a "market town". Market towns were distinguished from villages in that they were the economic hub of a surrounding area, and were usually larger and had more facilitie

That's a very large village as I say in my village which I thought was large 2 of anything would struggle to make a living , but I still stand by my view of lots of shops together must buy cheap or have price fixing of some sort if they are 3 restaurants not one a takeaway.surely the best one would get most people or the cheapest would get most people , but please unless you get into a discussion with me don't call me names

I'm no economist but I've noticed that for some reason shops of the same type do tend to open in the same place, whether it's convenience shops, barbers, electrical wholesalers, kebab shops or indeed indian restaurants. Provided they're all of a similar quality which considering in the case of an Indian restaurant they are if they get their food from the same suppliers, they will all do a similar amount of trade rather than one thrives while another goes bust.

I suppose the idea is if one is busy then the overflow will go to the next one so waiting times will be similar in each, instead of someone choosing to wait ages because one is the restaurant to be seen in. Presumably an Indian restaurant doesn't get a lot of passing trade, so having 3 together will make that area a destination.

Possibly I suppose but with food I would have thought that people would have there favourites we have a couple of Chinese within a 7 mile radius and one we don't really like and the other we do. So I would not go to the first one at all
And there is an estate where there were 3 wholesalers (electrical ) but in the end one closed down as people would just go to the cheapest and one of the others I think is having it a bit lean

Shut it Idiot

I think the idea is as you say people have their favourites - some people will prefer one restaurant and others will prefer another, but anyone turning up at their favourite to find a long wait has the option to go to the restaurant next door, or to try the one next door to compare it.
In Poole there's an industrial estate with a Wilts, Rexell Senate, Screwfix, until recently a Newey & Eyre, and in the industrial estate next door there's an Edmundsons. If you want electrical materials that's the part of town to go to, then if one wholesaler hasn't got what you want you can go next door. What often happens though is someone will have their preferred supplier because they get a good rate.
