Thanks for the help! Calpol worked a treat, it's amazing how when you pick them up to take them bed they give you a cuddle and the whole ordeal is a distant memory! Then you wish they were awake to play :)

We tried all sorts with the grandson, he spent most of his first two months screaming when he was awake, it turned out he had an acid reflux but infant gaviscon in his bottles soon had that under control. As far as getting him to sleep,if you have one try sitting him in front of the tumble dryer it worked a treat with all of ours. I take it you've tried the thing where you have him over the shoulder and gently patting his bum

If he's teething you can get these sachets of powder that you just pour into his mouth. I can't remember the name but you can get it from the pharmacy. That's what worked for my little lad.

Otherwise make sure he's had some milk and let him cry for a bit. It's very hard to ignore though isn't it, a babies cry.

Anybody know how to get 9 month old to sleep? Has taken nearly two hours :( just screaming

Me Dad used to give me a drink of gin. It seemed to work.

Polyfilla ????

Hi Trev, never heard o holding him over the shoulder, does this work?
Rest his head against your neck and cuddle him in, if he has a favourite blanket wrap it round him loosely. If not get a cot blanket or one from his pram, anything that will smell familiar and comforting.
You might need to walk around with him a while longer.

Drive in the car would have been my first choice. Teething probably like MDJ said, perhaps some teething gel if you have it. I gave my boy a scrubbed carrot to nibble on which sometimes helped.

Good luck and hopefully he's fast asleep by now anyway :sleep1:
