Meanwhile we're all left in limbo. The weather for the last 10 days has absolutely killed us :-(

Rudd during questions today. She got a drubbing again.

"Meanwhile Rudd said that more widespread installation of solar panels on public housing was of interest and had been flagged within the feed-in tariff consultation. An announcement is to be made in December, however this is not to be confused with the overall feed-in tariff response which Rudd said would be confirmed “as soon as possible”.

Sounds like she doesn't know herself.

A couple of mistakes in that report.

if the change is considered negative then 40 days notice must be given.

The 'negative' part is related to either House deciding to reject the draft SI, not whether it is considered to contain negative changes. But in this case the 40 days are imposed by the wording in the Energy Act 2008.

If the consultation response was published on 7 December 2015, the new rate would not come into effect until 25 February 2016 at the earliest.

40 Parliamentary days from 7th December would take it to 2nd February not the 25th, as week-ends are counted.

We're finishing with solar when the rate drops so for us it's a debate about whether we just call it a day at Christmas or pick up a couple of stray jobs that we have waiting. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for everyone staying in the industry though.

could well be another 2 months after new year before the big cuts happen, could be worth sticking around for that and waiting to see final proposals.

I suspect you could actually be well placed to tap into one of the markets we're having considerable success with on post FIT cuts pre marketing - roof integrated systems on new builds where replacing slate / stone roofs where the costs of the roof covering being are around half the costs of the solar PV, so the finances only have to stack up on the cost differential between the 2. PM me if interested as I'm working on regional installer / partnership deals with manufacturers.

We're full to the end of the year and undecided about whether to pay RECC fees.

we're into the next rate category now, so that's a bit more of a chunk of money they want from us.

I had an email today from HIES urging us to switch to them rather than blindly renewing with RECC.

I bet all the muppet companies which have been in trouble with RECC will be moving across to start again with a clean(ish) slate.

I don’t know how prices compare between the two schemes.

yes I'm tempted to check them out, RECC ****ed me off at the last audit, and with their application of the 2 week cooling off period etc

I hear that A Shade Greener has put its Head Office staff on 30 days notice. Unconfirmed report from an insider.

Installation teams currently unaffected but their time will probably come. Not the nicest surprise with Xmas on the horizon.

I understand they do 300+ installations a week....

DECC minister Andrea Leadsom was replying to questions in Westminster Hall this morning.

She said: "We are looking carefully at the more than 50,000 responses to the feed-in tariff review and will set out our final approach to all schemes by the end of the year."

The written report is here: Read - UK Parliament and video: Parliamentlive.tv - Westminster Hall with Andrea Leadsom appearing at around 10:48.
