i nipped the edge of a tail before, it was in a small enclosure, pain of a job, anyway, I ended up replacing the length back to the start.

Not quite the best way of joining tails that are backed up by a 60a main fuse me thinks. Why not just pull some new ones in the meter box is directly behind it.

I've seen worse Haj. I know it's hard to believe but I've seen tails in tape joints.
