what? How about just using that expensive bit of kit you're supposed to use to see if a future rcd will hold! E.g a multifunction or an ir tester?

Haha I can just imagine a make shift RCD floating around somewhere on the tails, and when it trips turning to the client and saying, sorry I can't change your board I'll leave it.
