I do some sub contract work for two different contractors. One of which insists on using capping in dot and dab buildings, the other does not. Who is correct?

Capping is there to protect us from the dreaded spread's trowel, or if you'd believe a spread who I recently told this to who's 'done all the electric qualifications':
"Capping is for when people do DIY when they are drilling in a wall if white stuff comes out they will stop drilling" I nearly wee'd myself.

yes the capping is one reason to protect from the trowel. . . but there is no trowel with dot and dab is there .. .

thing longer down the line guys...

when you or A.N Other electrician needs to replace the cable, will he (or you) be happier fishing new twin in using the old as your fish down oval tubing or capping, rather than slicing the wall open to access a cable thats moulded in with the board adhesive??

Also (to the best of my knowledge) board adhesive does not interfere with T+ E whatsoever, but the older method of scratch and skim (thats sand/cement mix prior to skimmed finish) does attack T + E cuasing detrimental breakdown of the outer PVC coating.
