mmmmmm, but you wouldnt run t&e surface in the sun would you?. . . . I wouldnt.Apparently the plaster does react with PVC but IMO its the save as the suns effect on PVC not enough to worry about. He who pays calls the tune.

Here's a stupid question: Why is it called 'dot and dab'
that doesnt make it right tho!I've yet to see a property that doesn't have twin + e clipped outside to feed outside lights.
yes the capping is one reason to protect from the trowel. . . but there is no trowel with dot and dab is there .. .Capping is there to protect us from the dreaded spread's trowel, or if you'd believe a spread who I recently told this to who's 'done all the electric qualifications':
"Capping is for when people do DIY when they are drilling in a wall if white stuff comes out they will stop drilling" I nearly wee'd myself.
laymans term as the idea is you put dots and dabs of adhesive on to stick it as opposed to fully covering the wall

I do belive OSG says T&E is generally suitable "on exterior surface walls, boundary walls and the like" with just a comment that protection from sunlight may be necessaryIf you look in the regs, T & E is listed as suitable for some external works
IMO no.would paint be classified as protectoin from sunlight as that seems to be the most commonly adopted form of protection?
Also seems to be a good form of protection on internal cables installed by DIYers.
I use 20mm pvc conduit for my drops and sockets, it looks really good for 5 seconds before it gets boarded
pride in yer work matey. . . . pride! Now I could have written that
The lovely neat job that nobody sees again, gone with a sweep of the spreads arm
Thats why we are not valued highly enough, not much to show for the money
