Double socket on the same wall as light switch

Hello guys! Just a quick question, is it good practice to place a socket on the same wall where the light switch is? Customer wanted socket on the same wall where light switch is. In my experience I have never seen sockets on the same wall as light switch. Please give me advice guys. Thank you.

It’s sometimes and advantage as you can get cables for both, down the same chase in the wall.

There is no reason not to put sockets wherever you like….

It’s worse to put a socket somewhere that’s never going to be used…

move the socket over a little bit, so they’re not directly in line.

Pass them behind the back box.
Or

Use a deeper box and pass them straight through.

Pass the cable through the back box of the light

Along with already suggested.

You could surface mount them and use trunking or use quinetic for the switch.

But don't complicate things and make difficulties for yourself by putting them exactly under one another.
