to be fair you did all start ripping into him. we all have to learn and at least he wants to ask a professional. surely we should be professional in our replys
 
There should be two earth bonds from the main earthing terminal they should be clamped to the water and gas supplys before any joints or tees & within 600mm of where they enter the property. Any further earthing between points in a domestic property should be no greater than 6mm. Hope this helps

Unless you bond from the MET to the water then the gas using a single length.

Within 600mm of point of entry or as close as practicably possible
 
How many properties have no cross bonding on the compression joints? Probably about the same amount that have compression joints. If you go down that road where does it end?

But we don't need to bond as we all have magical RCDs that cure all evils... ;)
 
The last time I checked ..... Brass was a conductor!
I was under the impression we were talking about the plastic ones... Pushfits, no it all becomes clear, I'm not 100% on plumbing terminology as I can't think that simply... :lol:
 
I was told by a previous employer ( and he had checked it with nic technical that it was ok in plastic up to a certain distance as it would conduct through the water

I was under the impresion he was working as a "professional". I think the comments are justified.
