Discuss EICR test failed due to no RCD on smoke detector, lighting, door bell, security alarm in the Electrical Testing & PAT Testing Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net
As an update, Electrical Safety First came back to me with a very good email where they pointed out a lot of the issues with the report I received. I forwarded this to NAPIT and submitted a formal complaint on NAPIT's website. Hopefully they will have to do something now
So you have had a response from the ESF who are the owners of Certsure (NICEIC) commenting on a NAPIT contractors EICR very interesting to say the least
So having now made a formal complaint to NAPIT how they handle it could open up a can of worms for them as if you are not happy with the outcome you could then make a complaint to UKAS who give NAPIT etc the accreditation to operate
As someone who is in the process of registering with napit for the first time reading their response they sent to OP by email about the “eicr” results by email is absolutely disgraceful! I bet they didn’t even open the observations page or test results. The “test results” completely contradicts the observations (lack of RCD).
If they had pulled their fingers out enough to put it on the mouse and click open on the files they’d easily see that the “engineer” obviously does not know how to make a good judgement.
I bet if they were offered some money to get one of their actual napit employee test engineers out to cross reference the test results they’d be all over it. These high authorities make me sick all they care about is money money money.
I can’t believe I’m going to be paying £600-700 a year to be grouped in a scheme with cowboys.

NAPIT's response (after I followed their instructions and got an opinion from ESF - I give up, they are just wasting my time)
Thank you for contacting NAPIT
Your complaint appears to be valid at this stage, however, we cannot investigate your complaint as you are not willing to allow the installer back to your property to investigate or rectify the issue reported. We understand that there is sometimes a loss of trust towards an installer in a complaint situation, but NAPIT’s powers are limited to demanding that an installer completes work in a compliant manner or rectifies non-compliant work. We cannot request that an installer provides compensation or to pay an alternative installer to carry out work, although these can be suitable complaint resolution steps if proposed by the installer themselves.
We can only suggest that you seek legal advice to query if there are any alternative routes that you can pursue.
We cannot assist with the complaint surrounding what is specifically recorded on the report and this should be reported to the insurance company as a claim.

Sorry but they are useless. Not only did they refuse to look at the report themselves and referred me to ESF, once I got a response from ESF which said their member's EICR was full of errors they told me they can't do anything if I don't allow them back to rectify the issue etc etc. I already got a clear EICR from someone else, why would I allow those fraudsters in my flat again. I am a woman living on my own, I don't want random people in my flat especially people who tried to defraud me. Basically they don't want to do anything

It is a scandalous situation when those who claim to uphold standards do the exact opposite and I doubt anyone on here is surprised by their response.
