Discuss Electrical installation certificat in the Periodic Inspection Reporting & Certification area at ElectriciansForums.net

You have never worked on an electrical installation in your life, stop kidding yourself, coz you sure as hell aint kidding us! You told us in your first post that you're not yet registered with a scam scheme. So what's it you'd have us believe? That you've been an industrial spark for 15 years but don't know the difference between an EIC and an EICR, you can't test and you needed to do a 5 day wonder course coz you've never worked in a house before?!?!?!

You're full of sheeeeeeeite!

Go and troll somewhere else

Hi if I am honest on the installation side I feel I am competent installer but due to he lack of inspection an testing knowledge than no I would be working from the regs book on a step by step basis .

Thanks for your comment.

I do not want to seem like i am getting on the band waggon as well , but it is the comment about working from the regs book on a step by step basis that indicates you are not ready for it .

Test and inspect is not about cross referencing with a book it is about hard gained knowledge and experience , if you have not got it in your head in the first place then how do you know you have not accidentally skipped a whole chapter or two in the book ?!

If i have it wrong and you have just not explained yourself fully , then i apologise !?

i dont really care what you think to be honest im not registered yet i bet you feel good about youself know for belittling me on here you can put your pitch fork away know i am told.:33:

Hi i am aware the book is there as a guide not the gospel and i know it all comes with experience witch i will put the time in.I just needed pointing in the right direction and not off the nearest cliff .:eek:perator:

I really don't think you have helped yourself, have you? Members on here are pretty good at "sussing" people out. If you really have been doing industrial for 15 years, you should have said so AT THE BEGINNING of your OP. It now just looks like you are making it up as you go along and it's too late now. (even if you have all that experience!)

There is a learning curve here for you. Most members are very helpful if you approach the forum in the right way from the start.

I'm no expert like some of these guys but you haven't helped yourself.

The majority of the chaps on here will help and advise as they see fit, they will also virtually clip you round the ear and berate you if you're a complete doughnut. Their hearts are in the right place if you show willing.

I think you need to be considering how experienced you are and what you should be doing. Dangerous world out there.

It may be better to ramp up to jobs like this ?
That way it is more likely that you do not miss that odd chapter while you are gaining the experience on testing .

I have been doing it 20 years now and have been a ECA qualifying manager for the last 9 of those and i can assure you that when it comes to test and inspect i am still far from comfortable in my knowledge even now and doubt i ever will be , as every day is a school day !
