Regarding certification. For example trev If you worked on 5 circuits in one propertyno new circuits added you wouldn't issue 5 minor works certs you would issue 1 eicr for them5 circuits. well I would as I wouldn't even consider 5 minor works. I don't really think it matters either way.

I use a multi minor works cert?
 
Yeah if you were working on multiple circuits just adding points or changing positions or accessories then an EIC would be easier to do surely. You'd just make a note in the extent of works box what you had done making sure you pointed out the fact you had verified earthing and bonding and then just fill out the test sheet with the test results of the circuits you had worked on. It would be also wise to make a brief note stating a full EICR of the property had not been completed just to cover yourself.
 
Mmmmmm if builders can do electrics whats the point of having an electrician ? Also you state you are in the UK take it that means England ? cos Part p only covers England & Wales:yes:
 
apart from which, i find it almost impossible to get a MWC for more than 1 circuit on a beermat.
 
We don't use them. have in the past used a multiple one produced by the eca but I thought it only went upto 3 circuits. But ill stick to the eicr for multiple circuits and just note in the extent of work carried out.
Every time you have posted you have said EICR, I think in each case you mean EIC.
Doing a periodic inspection on new work would generally be inappropriate.
 
Is work in an en-suite still definitely notifiable?

The new Part P doc says that additions or alterations to existing circuits in a special location are notifiable, but it then goes on to say that "in this regulation special location means -" and goes on to describe, for rooms containing a bath or shower, an area which looks like the zones to me.

So I think that work is only notifiable in a bathroom if any of the additions or alterations fall within the zones.

Anyone got a different view on this?

Seems a bit mad to me, I think it should be the whole bathroom really, but that's what approved document P seems to say now ...
