their a bit busy right now...Domestic market is tough at moment but ÂŁ7 an hour!!
Luckily I've never had to go that low to make ends meet but if your self employed no way the work stacks up at that rate.
The likes on the NICEIC eg should be doing more to educate Joe Public that cheap is not always best and its "best to buy British".
I worked as a mate for ÂŁ7.50/hr about 6 or 7 years ago.Shot me down if you wish but come on who here is on 7 quid an hour really......no one that's who, it's just scare mongering.
So what that some foreigner for the EU has done a **** poor install for some dopy mug because its halve the price.....TBH as long as its not dangerous I'm happy with that because remedial work is a lot of what I do.
I know times are tough but that's the world we live in, dooms day Sayers don't help.

You’ve only yourselves to blame. You let the scams run the show. There’s no “one voice.”
The only way things will improve is with a national register of “qualified” electricians with a required entry level.
more like the customer tried pullin the electricians pants down.....From what I've read, domestic customers would be prepared to pay extra for a few basic customer service skills, such as actually turning up to do the work - a lot of customers seem to come here complaining they can't get anyone to go out and quote, if they do go out to quote they just run away without telling the customer why.

been listenin to too much dominic littlewood shyte you have...
As i said that's from what I've read on here. I can't watch those Dom Littlewood programmes - it's just 'X-Factor TV' - "this woman didn't like her electrician so told him to get out of her house, now he refuses to go back and finish the job, but her kids are ill which makes him a monster."more like the customer tried pullin the electricians pants down.....

he once went on about the importance of getting a part P qualified electrician in...lol...nearly fell of my chair laughingHaha, to be fair to that little bald stumpy dwarf...he knows what hes doing.
With the creation of the Electrical Trainee and other like schemes across all trades, Dom ain't gonna be out of work for a while.
Talk about job security. Dom's got a job for life chasing these mugs around the streets.
agreed...its `popcorn telly`...As i said that's from what I've read on here.
