how come no one has mentioned using the brown as cpc on the swa?

I am pretty sure there is no reg against this as long as the conductors are properly identified at every connection. (so my comment of unidentified conductors covered that).

I would be happy to be corrected on this though.

To add, any trained person would not have done it as the picture shows as this is clearly DIY gone wrong.

Is the PVC cable secured to the wall? To avoid mechanical stress as well? (housekeeping to say the least) just to add. :X risk assessment : hazard electric shock, risk certain.
 
Re IP rating, it looks remarkably dry in there!
Paul, stop posting pictures of your dodgy work and fishing for advice on how to correct it. :)

All that is needed is to wrap some electrical tape around the terminal block and silicone a butter tub lid over the top????
