Wow its an L2 no its an L3....Anybody else like to make a guess. The Britsh standards is written for both elctiricans and Fire engineers by the same 4 good old guys....If you are NICIEE reg or like us BAFE then the certificates are vertually the same..all installations are Design, installation, commission and verification...you complete these certs on wiring or any other installation. Main certs need to include 1. Insulation checks on cabling need to be completed, including R1 & R2. 2 battery calculations need to be completed. 3. sound levels need to be recorded on various levels and locations. 3. Part or full O&M need to be issued.
Sorry to be blunt...but I would guess a cable size without calculating the load first....same with fire alarm systems

Ok point taken im only helping the lad, if i was on site i could tell you exactly what type of system was installed. I would have the previous commission, design, and acceptance certs, with the fire log book. However im not privey to this information. I bet the landlord doesnt have it either.

How about you making a guess too.

A guess is all i could do with the info.....But will always try and help...3 ssounders/3 call points would suggest 3 floor accommadation (on on each floor) using 10 smokes over 3 floors would suggest that all bedrooms and circulation areas have detection (usual HMO is to install heats in Bedrooms) therefore Guess is Grade A L1 system. A replacement of this system would require a BS5839 Part 1 (not part 6)Commissioning Cert and a Modification Cert I would also suggest cable testing and sound level results.

thanks tazz some bad n.bh..ds on this forum like being back at skool just need a little help on the cert side its had a full sound test and smoke test and installation test like i say just paper work

Stodsy, basically if you are NICIEE use you fire cert section, if not the use standard BS5839 certs. There seems to be a lot of software companies dishing out new programes for certification, and personally i think this is just a money making racket. We work very closley with electrical contractors, and this works really well as we need each others skills. Hope this is of help, as i know my comments can come across as abrupt sometimes
