I would advise you to get the EICR done first. If your existing c/u is non-compliant with BS7671, the EICR will detail this. I believe that an EICR should be done after a new C/U is fitted any way.

Yeah right on Dude, I mean Tel been watching some 60s carp on the telly Man far out.or at least a basic test/inspection to determine:
1. is a replacement CU advisable.
2. is the installation in good enough state to connect to a new CU with RCD protection etc.
Cant think of the times I have seen that, got 10 episodes of the Royal to watch al them nurses from the 60s ohh Matroncan't wait for monday. 9 p.m. i think. star trek iv... the voyage home.
Probably best not the Telbetter not allow you to see St. Trinian's then.
