Finished a Eicr, just your thoughts on this, the remote garage is supplied from the ring main of the house, other building are radials of this.
The supply enters from underground,& are pvc t&e,goes straight into a 2g power point, then to other points.
There is no main bonding required, thinking this needs isolation when entering the building,& other supplies protected accordingly.
Would you fit a small DB on the main in,or a complete no no,cause it’s a ring main.

It’s like starting all over again,a ring main supplies the garage, there are radials from this power socket, going elsewhere.
Will I need isolation at this point, there isn’t any mention of cables supplying the garage,I have no idea how they have been installed, only that they are entering the garage from below.

From what I'm reading I cant see that a ring feeding an outbuilding is potentially dangerous, with or without isolation. 'Radials'(?) fed from the ring....I assume you mean spurs with more than one point, will only be potentially dangerous if they may reasonably be expected to carry substantial load but a code 2 may well be appropriate. I cant see why it is not possible to verify the type of underground wiring, surely if it cant be verified at the supply end it will be visible at the garage end?

Within the context of an EICR you can only verify things that do not cause damage to the installation. Therefore it is not possible to verify the cable installation method in its entirety, as wirepuller has just posted some estimate of the method of installation should be possible; certainly now that you are onto remedial work.
To have a double socket in the garage on the house ring is not a problem, to then supply multiple other points from this double socket is nominally possible if it is considered as multiple spurs, each to a maximum of one double socket or the current for that spur is limited to 13A. If this is the case then the cables are protected from the remote possibility of overload. There is still the minor consideration of ensuring loads are equally distributed around a ring which would not be the case here since there could be a considerable concentration at that point, however on a practical basis is there a lot of loading in these outbuildings? If you feel you can limit it to 13A then one assumes not and so it becomes less of an issue.
I would apply the 13A limitation after the garage socket. If you feel that local isolation is necessary in the other buildings then install a DP switch in the buildings.
