I generally find that a Waitrose bag wound in layers with said tape usually provides the required IP rating I'm looking for.
Incorrect, Waitrose bags are only rated at IP 29 so 2 of them will only give IP 58. Jeez man it's all out there if you can be bothered to read up

Sorry, obviously I am not cut out to be a proper electrician. Must try harder. Though I did use a bit of baler twine to tie the cable to the fence, does that count?

No you are not cut out to be an electrician. Everyone knows that you nail the cable to the fence (center of the cable) so you earth the fence! God i can't believe how stupid people can be! Lol
Idiots mate, I totally agree, they should never be allowed near a light switch let alone a cable

I reckon Marvo will shout at us soon for taking the mick:)
