You're right there, a Lancia Stratos HF (road going version of the legendry rally car) will set you back close to £250,000 now!

We do alot of work for a classic car dealer, the other week I was hanging a light over the top of an original AC cobra! He also had in stock a Aston DB5 convertible a snip at 250k. He traded it in a couple of weeks back for an E type number 12 off the production line it used to be a demo car at one of the London showrooms. I love going to there garage they've always got something different.

I owned an MGBGT V8 when I was a little younger. It was a classic and I would like to be able to say it was my all time favourite car.....but it wasn't, the handling was terrible and it was a puke purple colour that only its mother could have loved.

Nope, this was my personal favourite, bought one in the mid eighties and still owned it in the mid nineties. It was a work of art....nuff said.

I had the pleasure of driving one of these. Scared the living daylight out of me! The power (at the time) was awesome.

Indeed, the police were so unhappy about it they tried to get it banned.

Needless to say, they failed!

Great car. I remember seeing one of those cop car dox on tv years ago when the Carlton was doing about 170mph and the helicopter couldn't keep up! Believe this car is the reason for all UK cars being restricted to 155mph. But my choice would be the classic Porsche roadster, the one in the film ferris buellers day off. Basically its a vw Beatle cut down with a 911 engine in it, what a good looking car as well. Keep dreaming.
