I had a spate of lamps a while back where the contact was recessed too far back into the ceramic endcap, with the result that it would not make contact with the pin on the fitting. They were Bell lamps if I recall. Thought I was going mad, full voltage on the lampholder contacts which were in perfect condition, new lamp with filament continuity tested, but the effin' thing wouldn't light.
Worth checking if you find yourself scratching your head, as although Bell lamps were the main culprits I had a Crompton lamp do the same not long ago.

Crompton were my tube of choice.

Investing in a 20w or 30w LED flood would be the best way forward, factor in the massive energy savings [depending on usage] and the cost of a new linear halogen lamp every few months and it would pay for itself in a couple of years.

That's just the way they speak up there - a fella I used to see in the club once said to me "dya leek crebs".

Tell me about it!

You should try explaining to the aged deaf club doorman that you have a truck parked outside with about 4 tons of P A & Backline on board that you need to get into the Concert Room before the crowd gets in and all he wants to know is "are ye affillyated??"

That's just the start of it. Next is the "Consort Chairman" who is a bricklayer or labourer through the day and thinks he knows better than you how and where to set the gear up

Aagghhhh!! Clubs ..... I hated them!!.

The Comrades 'consoort' chairman was a 'Tail End Charlie' on lancs during WW2.
His nickname was 'Tashie' because of his waxed handlebar .

Chances are you may of met him.

Never know who you are talking to.
