Discuss heating circuit relay in the Electrical Tools and Products area at ElectriciansForums.net
Yes alright!! I've learned my lesson. :83:Ha ha! With a photo in the op, this thread could have been cut to about 2 posts.
Yes thankyou for your input too. We got there I'm the end and learned a few things along the way. Which is always worthwhile :dead:What about acknowledging PMs?
OK but if it provides alternate heating then that's its purpose, yes? To prevent both heaters being on simultaneously. There is a control knob on the bath stat which is accessible, and a heater switch which energises both heaters but via the relay..
Absolutely agree.. An educational exercise indeed! BTW which side of Manc are you, blur or red?You stated that both heaters should not be switched on,at the same time, the only way this could be achieved with that particular relay, would be to have one on the N/O contacts, and one on the N/C contacts.
This makes the latter, switched by default, and not fail-safe,ie with no switching input,or loss of switching control,it will remain on.
This may be important, depending on a whole raft of circumstances,of which we know not.
I realise that on occasion, folk ask a simple question regarding the sourcing of a component, and it turns into an inquisition of sorts...
I reckon it would be similar,on a medical forum, where a chap asks "Where is the best place to buy scalpel blades?" before having a bash,at a circumcision,on an unknown individual
