Hello..

Your help would be much appreciated. Its obviously quite simple but I'd like some help!

Ok...I've a feed from a switch inside the house. Currently a halogen floodlight there which works on the switch.

Ok..I'm going to replace this with a PIR bulkhead, 60w...easy.

What I'm a bit stuck with is.........adding another PIR, exactly the same type, to the first one.

The first one will have twin/earth from the switch, and I've got a length of twin/earth for the second light.

Inside the PIR is obviously L, N, Earth and a *. Its a four terminal block. I'm guessing the * is the switch?

When wiring the second PIR to the first light, I'm confused as to where the Live goes. On the incoming cable from the slave unit, do i wire L to L, or do I wire L to the *???

I know its probably a doddle for you guys, but would appreciate your help.

Thanks in advance, and Merry Xmas

PS It will be checked over and certified!

hi, im new on here, ive got a problem trying to put a new pir light on, i tried to wire up the old one and its either not working when i wire it up or the switch inside the hallway doesnt work, im going to put a new pir light in its place which i have done several times before but out of the wall i have the following coming out of the wall to wire to the pir light,

2 x seperate 3 core wires, each with a red wire (live), black wire (n) and earth. one of these 3 core wires goes to the mains feed and one goes to a light switch in the hall.

i am connecting it to the following pir,

but before i do i wanted to check if its as simple as connecting both sets of red, black and earth together in one side of the choc block to the corresponding connections on the pir or is it more complicated.
thanks
dave

That will work fine as long as the Pirs use relay switching, some don't.

You would have thought they'd have a switch to flick on and off to engage an override. Not on each PIR but an actual light switch
