Help with some questions

Hi Im back after a heavy day with the kids ha. All this help is much appreciated.

Right so for question 1 I got R=V/I=3.58/2.5=1.432Ω A=Πxr²=3.142x1.432²=6.44A

And for question 2 I got R=V/I=11.5/13=0.88Ω L=RxA/P=0.88x2.5x10-6/1.72x10-8=
0.0000022/0.0000000172=127.9L

And for question 3 I got
R=V/I=230/45=5.1 V=IxR=45x5.1=229.5V

Question 1 is after the CSA of the cable. Not sure why you have come up with a value in amperes?.

Question 2 Is very close to the answer i got, although i think i worked it out slightly different to the way you have.

Question 3 is incorrect. The VD is more than 0.5V. You need to work out the ohmic value from the information given and then multiply the current by this value to give you a value for volt drop.

probably pasted just like happysteve.

Yeah, someone once knew, in the days of yore when t'internet was born. Folks have been cutting and pasting ever since then. Pretty soon, as the old hackers die off, there'll be no-one left with the old skills.

A bit like pyro. :(

fine, but 10 -8 ain't in there.

And thanks for all the help ppl. Its been very helpful for my phase test tonight

If you want superscript digits you can manually wrap with [SUP] tags.

So if you type; 10[NOPARSE][SUP]-8[/SUP][/NOPARSE]

it normally looks like this when you post it; 10[SUP]-8[/SUP]

Same for subscript except you use [SUB] tags.

if you type; 10[NOPARSE][SUB]-8[/SUB][/NOPARSE]

it normally looks like this when you post it; 10[SUB]-8[/SUB]

If you ever want to know how someone has done something with code tags you should be able to see the tags they've used if you hit the 'Reply With Quote' button that's on the bottom of their post.

and for symbols like
Ω √ ∏ ± ½ ¼

you can use
