Put your conspiracy to one side for the minute even though I don't doubt foul play goes on, but those horses were worth a bit.

The horses came off the rubber mat out on the track and the theory is a volt leakage was in area of earth and given the length between the horses front and rear legs they both connected via their metal horse shoes with 2 different potential ie voltages. Hard to explain on the forum, but sure someone will simplify what I'm trying to say.

A human would not have been able to connect with both the areas of earth at the same time, legs not far enough apart. Also they say horses are less tolerant than humans. In total 3 horses got caught in it and 2 died. But its only a theory but John Francome a ex jump jockey explained it well enough.

i wouldnt call it a conspiracy theory, it just wouldnt surprise me thats all. sporting horses die on a weekly basis because of the crap thats pumped into them. tis a shame anyhow that they died, i just doubt the cause of death to be electricity

Poor horsies. never thought about that, but I suppose it does make some sense that, because of their 'long wheelbase', they may be prone to different potentials through earth.... weren't there men on them, though? Did they feel anything? I know they are on the saddles, but their legs are in contact with the horse, aren't they?

Lovely time for cod. I am now promising myself I am going to get some decent fishing in this year, as this year will be the big 10 years since the last time I had a sniff of the salt. Course fishing is just not comparable.

Sorry mate the horses were still in the paddock being walked around on the rubber mat and when they left the rubber mat for the track it happened just before the jockeys were about to mount. The metal bits that goes between their mouth were hot and burnt the horses mouths as well.

John Franccome is called the greatest one, and he knew what he was on about and I'm sure he mentioned 800 volts, but that may of been an example to give people an idea or something.
