It's for a electric griddle pan, it had a US two pin plug which I cut off and thought just wire up with a UK plug but the wires are not colour coded so what should I do?

Or have I messed up? :)

Is there no way to ebay it to America? Seems a shame to dump something that probobly works fine in the right country

It would cost more than its worth in postage.

A bit lighter with the plug gone :)
 
It would certainly heat up faster at 240V! I have a large 240-120V transformer to power my American kitchen appliances here.
