The NICEIC and others are leaving it over a year without an inspection if you've a good track record. We were last inspected Jan 2010!!!

That's true, I'm an ECA QS for a company that I 'have an interest' in and we are now on bi-annual assessments.

we have gone 18months before an inspection but are next 1 is 12 monts from last inspector last time said you have been sliping out on them proberly beacuse we had moved

Wow some people are either very bad at maths or can't read. NICEIC and Elecsa are both cheaper than Napit. Napit covers you for PIR's and also signing of 3rd parties work for the ÂŁ575!!!! Better than both of the others.

Niceic are the most known but Napit are a great body. Very human and always there to help. Forget Elecsa, they are the unkowns

I doubt if there'd be much in it between NAPIT and ELECSA in a 'well known' competition!

I've never been asked for a 'NAPIT certificate' or had anyone insisting on a 'NAPIT contractor' before!

NAPIT started out with good intentions but soon dropped their standards to make up the numbers.
Originally you HAD to have 2391, then you had a year to get it, then they brought out their own OPEN BOOK 2391!

And please don't say 'you're picking on me IQ' again, I'm making a point about the trade bodies, not you personally!

Never heard of the Napit 2391 open book...very strange. So they have an open book 2391 exam....Surely can't be through guilds though. From what I was aware you must have it within 12 months or your out. I don't care personally as I have the guilds one.

Look here http://www.napit.org.uk/downloads/Training%20Flyer_2011.pdf about 5 down, they call it the NA 2391 and it is indeed open book and the same price as C & G 2391-10.

I'm amazed they were allowed to use the 2391 number in such a watered-down context?

Absolutely shocking...what a bad bad thing for the 2391. If this was more known everyone would be takeing this...Problem is if you want to change schemes the NICEIC would probably laugh at that qual....Considering contacting Guilds over this as I think its wrong!

I must admit, I feel the same, 2391-10 is such a well-recognised and if we're honest, quite prestigious qualification in our industry.

I wonder how many guys have been asked about 2391 in an interview and just answered 'yes' even though it's that version!

And just who told you all that information then IQ?
I've been banging on about the NA2391 for a very long time. I could tell you other stuff, but I'll let you tap your "source" for that. ;)

Source? What source? ;)

Sorry Electricalserv, I've done enough ranting about it over at the Napit forum. If you're a member you have access to it, so you can dig it up over there. It was a very big thread because I wouldn't let it die, but as with anything I got fed up with shouting at thin air.
