good evening everyone, im just starting out and i wanna know how much i should be looking to earn an hour i understand everybody different but im close to london (well 15 miles ) all im after is a rough guide on pricing jobs i dont wanna be to cheap and i dont wanna be to dear, if no one minds can you give me some good advice and help me along, il be greatfull for all the tips thanks

Its hard to get prices people bash about on here. 20ph is ÂŁ160 a day and in the domestic market (especially up here) alot of people just won't pay it. I know this as I've priced many a job and been told I'm too expensive.

You've got to take into account travel time and other expenses,Say you had a job in the congestion area and was paying however much is a day to enter it that would have to be taken into account.
I'd say ÂŁ20 for london is cheap.

ÂŁ30 p/h. im down south. I only do private jobs and only one person has said something about my price, I told him I refuse to budge on labour cost, and he paid (took him 3 weeks mind). I am happy charging this price as my work is of high standard, I use very good quality gear and I work hard and quickly. I sleep well at night. If they are not happy with my price, I am more than happy for them to use someone else. Forgot to mention, there is a lot that you I dont charge for i,e going to look at the job and speccing it/ pricing it, driving round different wholesalers picking gear up, ordering gear, chasing it up, printing certificates etc etc. In my eyes ÂŁ20 is unrealistic,I worked hard and I see myself as a proffesional. No offence but plasterers, brickies and decorators charge ÂŁ20 p/h and I sincerely believe I am worth more than them. (sorry if I offend people, but this is my view).
