Just thought Id share with you what I found yesterday at someones house
The spark who installed this did so 4 years ago, charged her £ 950 for the shower feed install , this included an £ 80 quid charge for a full drum of 10mm, the remainder on the drum he took on the van

and I couldnt beleive the route he'd picked for the feed:eek:

it is a driveway and right by a gate used all the time

anyway enjoy the pics !!!

I agree totally even if your skint because that level of professionalism is what gets you good honest real people ringing you in the future.

Priced a job the other day for and there was a 10mm clipped direct to a stair post. shower fitted about a year ago, it would only take a knock from someone moving furniture up/down stairs....

looking at the thread about being honest, i could not agree more. we once did a re-wire for a couple after she went to the shop i seen 2 twenty quid notes on the floor near were she was sorting her purse out. i have never seen anyone look as shocked when i gave her it when she came back from the shops. needless to say there was plenty of sarnies made for lunches and more coffees than starbucks :D

Im always honest to customers... i feel its the best way!!

when they say they found some one to do same job for £50 + Parts (like a CU Change) i just tell them i cant match that price and its there call but be prepared to reasonably expect a localised electrical causing house fire!

truth some times is best option.

im too kind to my customers (corporate gets no discount though)...

went to install a cable to a garage CU on monday and ended up partially rewiring the lights because they were so poorly done for no extra as and corrected non continuous live on the sockets as well.

Anybody else think an armoured cable running up the wall and being made off into an adaptable box/stop end box would have been a better approach?

Did mine at home recently and dropped a 10mm down an outside wall in 25mm black plastic with a stopend box on each end....Often you can run it up behind a downpipe, they are an inch or so off the wall, unscrew the fixing cliips, move it to one side and refix once your conduits in place....pretty unobtrusive then.

5 years you say that cable was out there,im surprised it wasnt more weather beaten and cracking and peeling.

Rotten looking job, 950...4 hrs...sometimes you question your own honesty!!!
