how to get a certificate without training?

Hello, I am a competent electrician in home wiring and have been working in home wiring abroad for the last 12 years, now im back in the UK looking for work I will need to pass an exam to get a qualified electrician certificate? how can I get the qualification without going into a training program?

There is no such thing as a 'qualified electrician certificate'

There are a number of courses you would need to do in order to get a completion diploma.

thanks but I dont need any training or couses, I just need to pass the examination since I have 12 years experiance it will be easy for me to pass, can I just sit an exam and get the 2357 passed? I dont need to waste time training.

I have 14 yrs experience and fully qualified onc elec eng, nvq3, 17th ed, 2391 testing and 2400 design and I would reckon if you can just do a course and "not waste time training" then we are all ******, its bad enough as it is with 7 day training courses never mind not doing any training at all.

I very much doubt that any training centre will allow you to just sit the exam for any course without any type of formal training, except maybe the C&G 2382 which is an exam based on the current edition of our wiring regulations, you might have heard of them.

In all seriousness, if you want to wind someone up, come up with something a little more orginal!!!!!!!!

yes there are places available that will allow you to sit test only without the need for training, i did the one day multiple choice brain surgery exam, unfortunately i failed however my local hospital said not to worry they can put me on a weeks trial and see how i get on.

You can buy JIB cards and the like now on ebay for around £6.99 + VAT + P&P.

I bought a roll of completed EIC's last week too with signed generic signatures on the bottoms. jobs a goodun'
