readings on suspect dodgy fridge
are about 12 M
simply i tested at 250 V , L-E. N-E ,

Does that sound dodgy or as expected ?

Why not meter out the start and and run windings on the compresser, and meter the defrost element if it has one
or put a amp probe on and set to peak hold and compare the readings ?

Not De Dietrich by any chance ? Anyway mate: whatever make it is, as long as you can prove it's that then just tell them to get an Appliance engineer in, those things can be more hassle than they're worth.
