if a joint is to be made under a floor wich is going to be deemed innaccessible can through crimping with the approriate tool in a cable clamped and mounted chocbox be the method of the join with normal solid core pvc/pvc twin and earth i have heard this is not acceptable any ideas:confused:

I've been using Ideal's push-in connectors for a number of years, never had a problem. Only thing is they are for solid same as helicon. I was at Epsom last week at the NICEIC event and Ideal were there. They are introducing the twist on wire connectors which can also be used on flex and can be taken off again. I did the obvious took a sample straight round to the NIC tech desk and asked if I could use them to my delight the answer was yes just needed to follow the same rules as other connectors. I phoned Ideal after the show and they are sending me a couple of samples even one that apparently has gel in it and is IP55 rated

Yeah been using the Ashley or Hagar (if not the same) claimed to be maintenance free. compression terminals + clamps. and nothing short of great i think.
20amp and 32 amp. large but solid and plenty of room. 4 terminals . L N E. Loop.
