Anyone ever installed an earth rod horizontally in a basement?
DB is in basement mounted on a wall that i could drill and hammer rod into "ground".

Just how hard could it be,to place it outside,in the same ground as if you have gone sideways, yet without the hilarious consequences?

Go big of go home. If you're going to run the risk of penetrating the tanking you may as well go whole hog and drill the floor and whack in a spike downwards. You're more likely to get a decent Ra reading on it and the repair bill for the waterproofing at a later date will be exactly the same ;)

Don't stick a twig in, whack a decent size rod straight through the floor and if needed screw another on top lol, these 3 ft 10 mm2 rods are a complete farce.

I agree, a 10mm² rod gets pretty bendy. A 10mm dia rod is much better. ;)

Actually, if you check the research, the rod diameter makes little difference to the Ra. The length is much more important.
I’ve heard that before somewhere!

You channelling Eng54 there?!? I think the approved terminology is 3/8 twig, though... ;)

On a serious reply to you, I completely forgot about ENG, anyone here know what has happened to him?
