The point is the slightly thicker rods have the thread on the end, and it is easy to screw another on to it and go even deeper, these 3 ft things are pretty crap, obviously in good ground they will do the job, I never used them myself, but the ground around here does have a lot of stones in it and they just struggle and are pretty pointless.I agree, a 10mm² rod gets pretty bendy. A 10mm dia rod is much better.
Actually, if you check the research, the rod diameter makes little difference to the Ra. The length is much more important.
Indeed. If you're going to hammer a rod into the ground, you might as well use something you can extend if necessary. The point is the slightly thicker rods have the thread on the end, and it is easy to screw another on to it and go even deeper, these 3 ft things are pretty crap, obviously in good ground they will do the job, I never used them myself, but the ground around here does have a lot of stones in it and they just struggle and are pretty pointless.
I don't; but I think that the fact that he is MIA is a net loss to the 'board'!On a serious reply to you, I completely forgot about ENG, anyone here know what has happened to him?
Haven't seen him around for a long time on any forums. Maybe Tony would know something.....On a serious reply to you, I completely forgot about ENG, anyone here know what has happened to him?
