IR35 is tax legislation which was originally brought in around 20 years ago, as far as I know, but is due for a radical change this April.

Yes because the rules change in April and the self employed person will no longer face the retrospective tax bill, it will all be on the employer.

That depends... fundamentally... it's all about whether you are ‘in business on your own account’ and not merely a ‘disguised employee’. If the former, all is good, if the latter... you should probably do something about it.

All this IR35 trouble is brought about because being treated as an employed person under Schedule E is significantly MORE expensive than as a trader under Schedule D.
 

All that happens in the long term is subbies get stitched up even more. just like what happened when the belts were tightened last time. Subbies ended up paying there own class four NI contributions and also had to pay for the privilege of being paid through a payroll company...whilst having holiday pay etc docked from there wages. Look at the company above they’ve already started something called Hudson freelance which is going to be another get around the new rules...
