Voltage test.......dell says is not an electrician- Please get an electrician in to do this for you, as its a live test. Your electricity supplier should do this safely for you.

Electricians know how to charge, ill wait to see if i get any more problems, nothing has happened today.

Dellboy, a little cheeky given all the good advice!!!....If your near me I will check the supply voltage for nothing.....Perhaps some of us dont know how to charge!????

Its my understanding that if it is an electricity supply fault they will pay for replacement items as I have known this to happen a number of times. Try not to accept repairs as they could go wrong with unidentified faults in the future. Demand new with new warranty. Good luck

Make sure you have all your house system tested and inspected as I have known this not done and then found fried cable and faults later with ongoing problems at your expense.

again good luck

Please post the outcome.

if its a supply/ distributor fault they are liable ring them and no charge plus replacement items or you could just cross your fingers.

I'm sure we all know how to charge but what price do you put on safety.

Just to add remember it may not affect the guy next door one job I went to years ago was that it affected every third house ie it was only one phase that the supply voltage went high and it was every third house that had faulty videos, clocks on washing machines digital CH time clocks or alarm systems because these were the only things left plugged in overnight.

PS dont ask what Scottish Power did next

Well we have adjusted the tappings of the transformer due to a volts drop at a new housing estate up the road because we did not wire it as a ring supply and did not realise that when the load dropped off at night the properties nearest the the transformer got a high voltage (this was verbal on the phone)

Phoned back and the "manager" took charge and said sorry we cannot recognise your readings of 282vac because you cannot furnish us with a relivent calibration certificate (this was 20 years ago)

I said o yes I can who shall I send a copy to.

The reply was Scottish Power does not accept liability please contact our legal department then he hung up.

poor customer a pensioner had to pay for a new alarm panel and video
