A

ample current

I have installed a pull cord hunidistat fan in a bathroom. The property has no rcd protection, do I now need to install an rcbo?
In the same house I have installed a similar fan in the kitchen powered from an existing unused sfcu do I also need to add an rcd to this circuit?

Thanks in advance

ooh this is all very confusing, I thought additional protection by RCD or RCDs had to be provided for all low voltage circuits in this location (bathroom) bear with me though I know I'm a little out of whack with every reg, I got it wrong with single isolation a day or 2 back and have only just taken the bag off the head, shall I put it back on????????????
No you are quite correct, RCD protection is required for circuits of locations containing baths or showers.
It is open to argument as to whether the replacement of existing equipment (maintenance) would necessitate the installation of RCD protection (where required).

Adding to this, if you fit an outside light from a spur off a ring main and the cable goes straight outside from behind the spur thru the wall and is then clipped direct all the way to the light am i right in assuming it doesnt need rcd protection for the install right? As long as your Zs is ok (below 1.13 or whatever it is) because the light is not mobile equipment. Am I right?
