Just met a fella on site who has a grade card and a NVQ level 3 and he has never done any electrical work ever on site in his life. He did a 6 week course which cost 6k and at the end they gave him a grade card with "Electric" written on it in bold red, he is now going to apply for his gold card. He walked onto a site Monday with a pair of boots on and this card and admitted straight away he knew nothing at all about installation work but felt he was qualified, he is a really nice fella by the way, however regardless of that, the fact is he is on a large commercial site sent to install electrical installation work without any site experience at all and possible access to a gold card after 6 weeks at college disturbed me--------------------------thoughts everyone?

What's his NVQ in? surely the v stands for vocational and means experience form part of the qualification? Sounds iffy to me

Looking up skirts while doing pat under workstations. I've told him as long as he doest touch, doesn't take pics/videos and doest get caught in the act he's still got a job. He's a dirty little ****. He'd prob give Rolf a run for his money!

I was told today he didn't know how to climb up a pair of steps, apparently he didn't get to use a pair on his 6 grand course, he got a rollocking from the H&S inspector due to them not being placed correctly and he stood up too far on them, also he was very uncomfortable up them, but he is qualified

got a piece of rope holding the 1 cross piece in place (if that goes im going down)

its a regular occurance to be balancing on 1 leg on the very top lol.

we get all the good jobs with lax h&s

reminds me of the old saying... pride comes before a fall. once was called a nancy boy for refusing to do just that. stand on the top of a pair od 9 tread steps. half our later, the name caller fell off his. broken femur and shattered clavicle. off work 6 months.
