Hi everyone,

I have completed 2365 L3 couple of months ago and now finally arranged an interview with a big company. Please could anyone tell me what sort of questions should I expect?

Thank you.

If the choice is between a DI or a fully qualified HVAC Technician it's got to be a no-brainer!!

This!!

I have worked with a few HVAC guys and all have had a very good knowledge of electrics on top of there HVAC knowledge.........also they were on more money than the electricians!......becoming an industrial spark would be equivalent to HVAC imo.....not a domestic spark (though nothing wrong with being a good domestic spark).

Nice! looks like you have put the time and effort in mate......are you looking forward to retiring? ill take a look through your profile now, cheers.......

You have been a member here since early 2009, and you are still describing yourself as a Trainee Electrician?? Think it's time to update your own profile here, either that or you are an extremely slow learner!! lol!!

Ha.....i have been a member since 2009 but only a trainee since March this year. I only applied for the trainee section then.......i started my second stint at college in 2011 hence being a trainee.....

I've been a member since 2008, but a combination of doing agency work, the recession, the training provider going bust and the bank dragging their heels with a refund, I still haven't completed the NVQ3, so the best the JIB will grade me as is a trainee; in fact when I had to renew I was downgraded to 'labourer'.
I sometimes wish I had taken the 'fast track' 5 year apprenticeship route instead of staying on at school.

I was doing some calculations in my head whilst walking the dogs tonight, and the difference in wages that I was on as an electrician (agency) versus a mate, meant that my AM2 was paid for in two months. Is it not time to 'speculate to accumulate'?

I'm very well aware of that - I did the calculation a long time ago, but you can't complete an NVQ3 if you spend whole jobs doing nothing but metal munching, or second fixing.
It seems to have got to the point where because of all the experience I've got people will employ me on electricians' money without the bit of plastic, but I still intend to finish the NVQ once my refund comes through.
