I have one double socket in my kitchen (its part up the upstairs ring) ...and i need to change it to three doubles

Is it ok to use the double back box that is currently in the wall, to joint and extend the ring (and place a double blank plate over) then chase down and fit three doubles?

If so what type of connectors should i use, wagos?

Be nice ...........

I think everyone did explain exactly what is right by current regs... and the law.
Notify notifiable electrical work.

Hey guitarist!!! I emailed my MP about paying towards the part P nonsense I had a response from him and he sent on my email to who ever it was in Westminster, my email included 4 weeks to become an electrician.
The response was "no the competent persons do short courses to top up on their knowledge and they show their competence and sign up for the part p. so even this minister is dilluded and doesn't know what's going on!!! The law my arse, I will scan the letter and post it in a new thread soon

I believe my first post in thread covered the fact i thought this guy was possibley an industrial sparks who rarely did ringmains and was asking for the best and right way to extend a ring.....now confirmed by the OP.

I also said Wago's are the mutts nuts (as they are) AND that the work to be carried out was notifiable under the Part P farce.

So can I request you stop selectively ripping my posts apart which seems to be an attempt to make out i'm encourageing someone to work outside the rules....i'm trying to cover all bases and obviously failing miserably.

I may be missing something here but are you meant to be going across and then doing a 90 degree turn. How is the next person going to know about about the turn if you get my drift.

Well, as I have already said, I completed a 4 year "industrial" apprenticeship, and yes, we learned all about domestic installs as part of the whole package. My initial post was to confirm that matt was qualified and competent to do the work, as well as part P registered to comply with the law.

all the fella,s done is extended the ring ff sake
ive been an electrician since 1968
16th edition now
now i cant work unless i get 17th, what a pile of crap

what he hell has that got to do with part p ?
So in he last 4 years you couldnt be bothered to spend just 2 days in college to learn the new regs that you need to get work ?
Pfft , thats your own fault.
