Watched the C4 news link, and I must say with ears bigger than Noddy's mate it is about time he used them.
When the news reader tells him that everyone says he is wrong, MP's, courts, the solar industry, he still does not listen..

Where can I find the official current tariff as of today and going forward through jan?
I am planning to install a system next week, the client had accepted 21p but wants to know if it will definitely be 43.3p.

You can't. The court case has permitted a judicial review. The judicial review hasn't started yet so we do not know what the outcome will be. The government consultation has not closed yet, so we don't know what their decision will be.

The only thing we *can* be reasonably certain is that the tariff will not be greater than 43.3p!

It is highly unlikely that the tariff will be less than 21p but not impossible.

Well done on the sale at 21p, out of interest what panel did you sell on and ROI ? Be careful to read the REAL guidance to ensure you protect yourself it the government change their minds....

I was expecting news today !!!!!

I have not long spent days renewing web site text to be edited at the 21.1p rates etc !!!!!

I would rather plod on at 21.1p with no grade C rating has the ROI is still good.

So when will we finally hear somthing about the tariff and we all can make business plans around this !

The consultation ends today but wouldn't have been published until mid Jan at the earliest. With the recent court case, this consultation could be null and void. Technically if the Government lose the appeal on the 4th Jan its back to 43p but I don't think thats a good thing for any of us at the moment.

We need 30p up until April.

It was that Muppet Greg who sparked the Gold Rush by announcing the rate cut in the manner he did.............and so it continues

Think thats why Greg took the stance he did on Ch 4, if he admitted things were wrong, the appeal would be dead in the water. Nice watching someone squirm under those circumstances............

What will you do if the government appeals successfully against the ruling this week and brings in 16p for installs after 12/12? We are deliberately NOT selling at the minute because no-one knows what the tariff will be. You run the risk of selling your system at 21p (which isn't confirmed) and being sued by your customer if the tariff is lower after the consultation.

Why do you think so many of us are complaining about being in limbo - personally I think it's unethical to sell pv at the minute, but you wouldn't be alone.....

We have taken the same stance as SRE, how long can we wait ......as I posted earlier in the Independant Evoenergy sold a system last thursday. If every other Solar pv installer is selling I would be a idoit taking a moral high ground (I do need money to live)!! As for REAL and MCS we seem to be the only advocates I havent seen anything from them, some advice and guidance in this very uncertain time would justify the annual subscription.

A good industry wrecked by the Govn't and its QUANGO's.....
