Hi All. got a call today from the plasterers to see if I can repair a cable they chopped whilst chiselling. going to have a look tomorrow but they have informed me its lead sheathed. I've seen it before but never had anything to do with it. I'm guessing its un repairable and rewire is the sensible option. would just like to hear if any of you guys have repaired any lead and what with.
Thanks to all.
Daz.

Cheers Guys. thought it would be a can of worms myself, just thought there might be some wonder product that I hadn't heard about that might help. Will need to look first and see how bad, might be an option to repair and solder an earth to the lead which was mentioned but that might come back and bite me in the arse later on. pretty much think ill say a rewire is needed and leave it at that.

Can of worms here Daz start messing with lead sheathed cable will lead to heartache, lead sheathed cable needs specialist accessories which probably went out of production when Jesus was playing Center Forward for Bethlehem, could end up with a bucketful of rewiring work Daz.
One thing don't try and pull things apart in JBs etc, all you will get is a pile of dry rubber

Far from PC Tel but very funny
well pete. you know i don't do PC, ( or PCL as i call it (political crazy lunacy)). hang on. just checking if 'er inddors has done the washing up.

Thread title threw me a bit.....I was thinking about getting the blow torch and wiping rags out.
small blow torch, heat sinks on sheath.

another option is to get the cables into a JB. buckle clip each lead sheath, solder a link between the fly ends of the clips, thus keeping the heat away from the lead sheaths.
