a dude has just rang me and says the lights are staying on continuosly... i think could just be jammed... anything you'd like to advise me before i go have a look... i have never looked at these before and i said probably just need replaced.. he sqid if thats what it takes
 
I think you will find it very unlikely its intermediate if its a timelag which are always wired as one way. think about it.
i said i hadnt seen an intermediate - but as you say, 'i'm thinking about it' and cant see why they are only 1 way! Like someone else has pointed out, they are generally in communal areas like corridors - which are generally at least two way -think about it!

What i was getting at was they are always wired one way as timelag or another switch will turn if off when pressed, I have seen loads where the sparks has wired with three core as we always do and the spare core pushed in the back of the box when the switches put on and the penny drops.
 
PAIN in the ring time lag switched prome to vandalisim stickin with dust ect the screw wearing loose and matchsticks Check n see what its wired like n fit PIR in place of switches set at a reasonable time as this use to be biggest complaint about the T/l switches
