300-350 for a day and a halfs work sounds okay. Don't forget to add the cost of the materials onto the job as well. whatever it costs you plus 15% on the top I would recommend. As for design, there is nothing wrong with coming off the existing lighting circuit for the new lights and the one smoke you mentioned. However I would suggest you may need 2 smokes, one at the top and the bottom of the new stairwell. Sockets? if you can get to the Db then a new ring would be my choice, in saying that though if you do have to get to the DB then wire the lights on a new circuit as well. Was thinking 1 1/2 days work so ÂŁ300-350...was more concerned with design ideas as u more experienced guys will have done numerous different ways
Pfft, amateur. I already did it mateWhat about all the information about the existing installation , as already mentioned you need to give more information , we cannot give any idea of costs without taking many other aspects into account ,,,
I've got no issue in helping people BUT they have to demonstrate some form of competence/experience to get my "helpful" side working with them......

why?
whats the max demand likely to be here?...chances are a radial will be more than adequate....what would the length of run be?
I going to count to 10.......loosing my patients lately....find the site harder than work itself.
yep theres several options...it was just the OP started going on about pulling a new ring in....without any thought to what the max demand was likely to be.....Or why not extend existing ring depending on load and access.
My GP is about to lose me the arrogant, negligent lazy barstool.
I've been a patient of that practice since I was born and doctors all wore white coats and looked clean and smart. The present crop of charlatans all look like they live in shop doorways and they are doing you some sort of personal favour by prescribing something for you.
oh for god sake
