installing pir floodlights on property need to run cable 4m from back door to side door on outside of property, what is the lowest grade of cable needed for this as its such a short run

Without knowing the installation, Zs of the circuit, OCPD rating etc then how long is a piece of string?

I don't see how you can use a 'lower grade' cable because it is a short run. Length of run would make a difference to volt drop/Zs, but not the type of cable used. External influences will dictate the cable type used.

What do you mean "lowest grade of cable"? are you an Electrician?

you use the appropriate type of cable for the load and the environment. cost is secondary to reliability and safety.

couls always employ capt. caveman's "kevin" to run it in bell wire, directly from the incoming side of the main switch. no nuisance tripping when it gets wet.
