Hi I've just moved testers from fluke to megger 1553, just wondering if the socket test lead measures the R1 & Rn reading when testing a ring main. The R1 + R2 reads ok just wondering if I need to purchase a Kewtech R2 mains adapter Thanks

Hi Simon,

The mains test lead from the MFT1553 cannot beused for measuring R1+Rn but you can use the SIA10 mains test lead or a mainsadaptor as you mentioned.

Not sure if this is of any help but I have just go hold of a Megger 1730 and was wondering the same thing. I was informed by Megger to use the lead with the plug attachment and as this comes with 3 separate leads on the end. So you only plug the leads you need into the meter.

Thats right th 1700 series has that lead where as the 1500 series didn't. I bought the lead with the 3 separate plugs on as an extra afterwards.
