I've seen a job when a plumber had used chrome pipe and used end feed under floor board obviously he must have scrapped the chrome away first. It worked it was a existing shower . wot are you're thoughts about that Geordie ? Rough as or good idea ?

Perfectly acceptable as long as you get all the chrome off the bit where the solder has to go!!

I must get my caliper out to be sure of the size, its either 8 or 10mm... I see john guest to a 15-10 speedfit reducer or they do a 15-10 reducing straight (coupler). Now I understood how the coupler works with the tightening nuts on both ends but wasnt sure how the reducer held on to the 10mm microbore...

I also read somewhere that it wasnt advisable to use pushfit on microbore...best method being to solder...

heard that with a metal compression fitting these can be tightened to much squashing the pipe...

Push fit is wot Electrical Trainee use.

Yes, you can tighten compression fittings too much.

I prefer the look of end feed to solder ring joints my self to (with tidy soldering!). Good to know as I will be doing a house up soon . Think il be doing wot I'd seen bit of chrome tail to rad will look good

nothing wrong with that as far as I can see,prefer endfeed to yorkshire any day.

Same with me couldn't see anything wrong with it just wondered why I'd only ever seen it the once though it was good idea don't see why it's not more common over compression on chrome tail to shower exetra

It's one thing that modern plumbers have in common with modern sparks ..... they both think that soldering is some sort of black art.

I can solder perfectly well thank-you very much!
I can even solder them copper pipes together with reasonable neatness

I don't doubt it one little bit with you being in the line of business you're in!!

Got to be , most of the stuff you hear today wouldn't get anywhere without the electronic wizardry of the supporting crews and studios.
