If I recall correctly (not from being there!!), support for Hitler was massive prior to the terrible acts carried out after achieving said support. A decline in popularity became evident at public appearances and, I may be wrong but, wasn't there reports of people being 'employed' to make up numbers for public support?

Yes, you're right, but by then he had so much power it would have been almost impossible to remove him. Various plots were made and many tried and failed to get shot of him. One person who was alleged to have known about one of these plots and to have supported it is the very man staring at you in my avatar! lol

It seems that 'a blind eye' will be turned when people are benefitting from something (in numerous areas and for various reasons) until something has to be done and, when it is far more difficult/costly!

Lol, look, I know you're only playing DA. I'm not defending a nutcase, but what I will defend is a political system that works, very well, but will now never be touched again because of what one wacko did with it in his own twisted way. I find this to be a great shame.

I however have no shame in admitting that I am both a Nationalist, and a Socialist. Something that doesn't really exist anymore because no-one has any balls to state their true conviction.

Do I want out of the EU? YES!

If we're talking about the same example, that's been shown in recent years not to be the case - if you're found to have used your extensive charity work as a vehicle to do bad things your headstone will be smashed up and the charity work will be forgotten.
Same with National Socialism - people don't remember the Volkswagens, they remember the gas chambers.

Yes it's only a name, but it's an unpopular name - a name with connotations. Likewise being against socialism, 'anti-socialist' sounds 'antisocial', as in 'antisocial behaviour' - drinking in public, defacing property, playing loud music etc.
