Moving to a house 3 meters from a 11kv sub station

hi
we are looking at a buying a house that has a small 11kv substation within 3m from the edge of the house, it is walled off and gated.
my main concern is emf s given off in and around the house and garden, distribution cables running under the house.
has anyone any knowledge of measuring emf s in domestic houses near substations and if it has health risks associated .

also I guess the voltage will be a lot higher in the house , so am thinking about a step down voltage transformer within house.

Now I wonder why they don't call the site 'Substation Radiated Field Testing' or something like that. Would you take your car to an MOT station called 'Road Accident Dangers'? You will find many websites about this topic that contain numerous errors, attempts to bamboozle you with correct but irrelevant science etc. Make your own judgement...

And with this concern about transformers I assume you've had a proper radon survey done? Or had the house electrics checked by a competent person? Wouldn't want to be missing on any actual hazards now :rolleyes4:

Ok ... here's a "relevant comment": You asked a question and received several answers the general consensus of which seem to suggest you have very little to worry about.

However, if you ARE worried, DON'T do it!!

Is that "relevant" enough for you??
